RULES for PHA Classes

1.         Tennessee Walking Horses that are heavy shod may not be shown in lite shod or country pleasure classes.

2.         Piedmont Horsemen’s Association and Oak Ridge Horse Show are not responsible for accidents to horses, persons or property.

3.         Scratches must be made two classes in advance or the entry fee will be forfeited.

4.         According to the PHA Rule Book, any pony entering a pony class must be 56 inches or less in height at the withers.  All pony entries into pony classes may be measured at horse show discretion.

5.         No hoof bands of any type may be worn by any horse shown in any class; this rule applies to all entries.

6.         The TWHBEA VERSATILITY RULE BOOK AND PHA RULE BOOK WILL BE FOLLOWED.

7.         CURRENT NEGATIVE COGGINS PAPERS ARE REQUIRED OF ANY HORSE ON THE HORSE SHOW GROUNDS.

8.         Exhibitors and Owners must be current PHA members and the horses registered with the point secretary to receive year-end awards.

9.         Under North Carolina Law, an equine activity sponsor or an equine professional is not liable for injury to or the death of a participant in activities resulting exclusively from the inherent risks of equine activities.  (Chapter 99E of the NC Statues), NOTICE: Wearing an ASTM/SEI approved hat is strongly recommended while riding.
